ABOUT J&M

We provide award-winning architecture and engineering services in the field of preservation.

J&M Preservation Studio offers award-winning professional architectural and engineering services in the general domain of historic and existing buildings to a diverse array of clients.

The firm was founded in 2013 by Jessica Senker, AIA, and Melanie Rodbart, PE, as a certified Women’s Business Enterprise, and provides a level of expertise unequaled in the field of preservation architecture and engineering. Our services are consistent with the Secretary of the Interior’s “Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties” for all historic projects.

At J&M, clients are our most valued assets. We advise and assist them through the process of problem solving, strategy development, and execution. J&M combines the flexibility of a small firm with the experience and staff necessary to respond rapidly to the individual needs of our clients.

Our principals have provided technical and advisory services for Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site Inc., the City of Philadelphia, County of Delaware, various municipalities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and multiple private institutions. We have been honored to work on 20 National Historic Landmark sites, and more than 130 historically significant properties. Both principals are Architectural Assessors for the Conservation Assessment Program, members of The Carpenters’ Company of the City and County of Philadelphia, LEED GA certified, and guest lecturers at the Stuart Weitzman Graduate Program in Historic Preservation at the University of Pennsylvania.
